Which Way to Rome

the magic of getting lost but finding home wherever you are

This Weekend in Rome: October 21-23

written by Young in Rome October 21, 2011

Live out your craziest "Night at the Museum" fantasies at the Capitoline Museums. So...see cool art at night.

Friday: Your chance to enjoy cocktails and tasty treats in a Renaissance cloister is back as Chi0stro del Bramanate reopens its aperitivo tonight. Check out our review for more info.

Saturday: After a successful summer season, Sabato Sera nei Musei is back.  Starting on Saturday, October 22nd, and running until Saturday, January 7th, a handful of comune museums are extending their hours on Saturdays.  Centrale Montemartini, MACRO , MACRO Testaccio, Trajan’s Markets, Capitoline Museums, Museo dell’Ara Pacis, Museo di Roma Palazzo Braschi, and Museo di Roma in Trastevere will reopen from 8pm to 1pm (last admission at midnight) every Saturday night.  Regular admission fees apply.

Sunday: Sunday is the last day to catch Foto Famiglia – a collection of family photographs depicting intimate moments of Italian family life from the unification 150 years ago up through the 1960’s.  This free exhibit is at the Vittoriano.

My Story

A smidgen about me: growing up bouncing back and forth between Rome and Northern California, I eventually moved back to the Eternal City to finish college and then decided I liked gelato too much to move away again.
