Sloshing around much these days? Unfortunately, as we wait around for all the snow and sludge to melt away, wading through huge puddles is inevitable. The only thing we can do is; 1- Hope it doesn’t snow again, and 2- Laugh at girls wearing UGGs, which clearly do not protect feet from water. Well, and learn the word of the day: pozzanghera.
Pozzanghera, pronounced po-tzan-ghera, means a puddle. Aside from being fun to say, it clearly represents the current state of the streets of Rome: puddley and slushy. The word comes from the Italian, pozza, or pool [of water].
