The clocks may have sprung forward on Sunday, but the Metro hours are falling back next week. Starting on Tuesday, April 10th, the Metro A is returning to its “really, you’re a public transportation system in a major European capital?” schedule of closing at 9pm Sunday-Friday. From April 10th until mid-May (the ATAC website offers a very Lenten “40 Days of Work” timeline), the Metro A hours will be as follows:
Sunday-Friday: 5:30am-9:00pm (this means the last train leaves the end of the line – Battistini and Anagnina – at 9:00pm, so depending on where you are and where you’re going, you can catch it up until 9:20 or so)
Saturday: 5:30am-1:30am
Of course, as before, the MA1 and MA2 replacement buses will be running along the Metro A route, allowing riders to get to the same destinations as the regular Metro. However, many bus stops are not right at the corresponding Metro stop (they can be a block or so away, depending on the area), so be sure to check signs and make sure you’re in the right place and going in the right direction.
