Which Way to Rome

the magic of getting lost but finding home wherever you are

Where in Rome is Cardinal San Domenico?

Take a second and let this song get sufficiently stuck in your head.

Cool. On with the post.

Welcome to the inaugural, official, Young-in-Rome-sponsored contest: Where in Rome is Cardinal San Domenico?

Our dear friend San Domenico is posing oh so seductively in the picture above in an unspecified location. The first person to post in the comments where he is will win a Peroni from me (specificity is required!). If you take a picture of yourself at the unspecified location, you will get a Peroni and a hug. If you take a picture of yourself with San Domenico at the unspecified location, you will get a Peroni and a hug and a Tronky bar. If you take a picture of yourself dressed like San Domenico at the unspecified location, you will get a Peroni and a hug and a Tronky and a big time high five. If you take a picture of yourself naked, guzzling a beer and riding a yak across the Siberian steppe, well, then, you’re going to get a call from your mother.

Note: San Domenico wasn’t actually a Cardinal. Method Man’s real name is actually Clifford Smith, so, you know. Whatever.

Congratulations, Hannah! You are the first “Where in Rome is Cardinal San Domenico?” champion and your uncapitalized name will forever be etched in the Young in Rome Scroll of Heroes.
Also, depending on when you get back in June, I will buy you a Peroni. (I may not be here.)

Oh, right, and if you take the picture, a hug.

[…] but unfortunately his/her guess of Via San Damaso wasn’t quite accurate enough. Here’s the link to the original post, and search Via Nicolò Piccolomini on GoogleMaps to see where you can enjoy this beautiful […]

My Story

A smidgen about me: growing up bouncing back and forth between Rome and Northern California, I eventually moved back to the Eternal City to finish college and then decided I liked gelato too much to move away again. Today I split my time between Tunis, where I work for an international organization, and wandering around my beloved Roma in constant search of bookstores and the perfect espresso. Read more…
