Friday: Hoppy weekend everyone – the Fourth Annual Roma Beer Festival begins today! Yes it’s at Atlantico, and yes that’s in EUR, but it is three days of tasting some of Italy’s best beers, including BrewFist, Maiella, and Opperbacco. Entrance is 8 euro, plus 1 euro per tasting (a taste is 10 cl or about a third of a bottle), so this looks like a reasonably priced way to try some awesome brews. For more info and a full list of participants, check out the website. The festival is open today from 5pm-2am, Saturday from noon-2am, and Sunday from noon until midnight.
Saturday: The giallorossi (aka AS Roma), make their final home stand of the season tomorrow night, with a match against Catania. Roma is currently ranked 7th, with their opponents nipping at their heels with a number 10 ranking, so while the match is essentially pointless in terms of rankings, it should be a nice night, so snag a ticket at the AS Roma store in Piazza Colonna, and head up to the Stadio Olimpico to watch the beautiful game under the stars. Kickoff is at 8:45.
Sunday: This Saturday and Sunday, Open House Roma is sponsoring days of free openings and guided tours to some of the Rome’s most interesting architectural sites. Participating sites include everything from Palazzo Spada, featuring Borromini’s awesome experiment in perspective, to the seat of the Senate in Palazzo Madama, to a bunch of, well, fascist architecture in EUR. With almost 60 sites participating, browse the photos and map on the official website to see what you want to check out and when you should get there.
