Which Way to Rome

the magic of getting lost but finding home wherever you are

Dance: June 28th – June 30th

written by June 28, 2012

Italy is going to win the semi-finals game tonight against Germany, and tomorrow is the Roman Festa of San Pietro and Paolo. Meaning, reason to party hardy this weekend.

Thursday June 28th:

Soundrome: Going on all afternoon, and night, head over to the Olympic Stadium for an epic day of bands and DJs, ending with what is sure to be a great perfomrance by super world-famous DJ, Tiesto. Personal Italian-fav of mine, Crookers, will also be playing.
Where: Olympic Stadium – Lungotevere Maresciallo Diaz
When: Starts at 2 PM
Cost: Tickets start at €58
For more info check out the event’s website, in Italian.

Rebel Rebel: By now you guys must be used to seeing posts on the Rebel Rebel parties… Still all outdoors, still hosting great DJs, if you haven’t gone to one of these parties, tonight will be a good time to start.
Where: Andrea Doria – Via del Baiardo 26
When: 11:30 PM – 6 AM
Cost: not sure
For more info check out the Facebook invite, in Italian.

Friday June 29th:

Say it Loud: Another edition of Say It Loud going down at Angelo Mai. The party will be held outdoors this time, which should be pretty cool. Dance to some techno, bass, house, etc. under the stars!
Where: Angelo Mai – Via delle Terme di Caracalla, 55/A
When: 11 PM
Cost: No more than 8 euros
For more info in Italian check out Angelo Mai’s site.

Jupiter: Spinning right next door to Angelo Mai is Jupiter, the electro-indie duo from famed French music label, Kitsune Maison. After, the resident DJs of ‘Touch the Wood’ events will be playing the electro hits you need to finish the night off.
Where: Roma Vintage – Via di San Sebastiano, 2
When: 10:30 PM
Cost: Free until 11 PM then 5 euro after (If you get there before 11 make sure to enter the dance area, and have them stamp your hand so you can come and go as you please!)
For more info check out Roma Vintage’s website.

Saturday June 30th:

Reggae Marathon: Yes, you read correctly. 12 hours of reggae from over 50 ITALIAN artists, starting at 4 pm going all the way to 4 am. It is all outdoors, covering 4 yards, including a reggae garden! Whatever that is…
Where: Villaggio Globale – Lungotevere Testaccio, 1
When: 4 pm- 4am – for the brave souls!
Cost: 3 euros until 11 PM, then 5 euro thereafter
For full lineup, check out the event page.

PS- no jinx no jinx no jinx no jinx. Regarding my intro sentence.

My Story

A smidgen about me: growing up bouncing back and forth between Rome and Northern California, I eventually moved back to the Eternal City to finish college and then decided I liked gelato too much to move away again. Today I split my time between Tunis, where I work for an international organization, and wandering around my beloved Roma in constant search of bookstores and the perfect espresso. Read more…
