Italy will take on Spain in the finals of the European Championship this Sunday, July 1 at 8:45 pm. While I’m sure you could watch it at any number of pubs, bars, restaurants, standing outside someone’s window staring at their tv, there’s really only one place you should be on Sunday evening – Circo Massimo. The city of Rome will be projecting the big game onto the big screen (maxischermi in Italian) at the ancient Roman stadium, and you can be sure that the better part of the city will turn out to watch. Get there early, bring a blanket and some snacks, and settle in for some fantastic soccer action as Pirlo, Balotelli, Buffon, De Rossi, and friends take on gli spagnoli. I’m so excited.
