Which Way to Rome

the magic of getting lost but finding home wherever you are

Learn Italian in Four Weeks!

written by Lauren T. Mouat July 5, 2013
Learn Italian in Four Weeks!

DSCN5328One of the best things about living in Rome is learning the language. It’s energetic and musical, you start learning the hand gestures and your whole body gets involved. Soon you’re lilting “allora” like a local. But for every spike in understanding there are long stagnant periods of frustration where you can’t seem to connect with anyone and simply ordering a coffee can feel arduous.

Finding a local to chat with helps (although, as anyone who’s lived here long can tell you, finding an Italian boyfriend is the fastest way to learn the language… and have the most fun!) You can always take a course but they are often expensive and there are a lot to choose from.

Enter: Koiné Language Centre. Located right by Piazza San Giovanni, they are offering a 4 week, 60 hour Italian language course for only 350 euros. That’s less than 6 euros an hour!

This group course meets at the school from 9:30 to 12:30 Monday through Friday for four weeks of intensive Italian where you can meet new people and finally make that final push to improve your Italian.

Plus, if you sign up before the 15th of July, you don’t have to pay the 45 euro registration fee.

The next start dates are July 29th and September 2nd.

Book now: languagecourses@koinecentre.com
Or check out their facebook page or website to learn more.

And stay tuned for an upcoming piccola intervista with Koiné’s incredibly young and independent founder Maricla!

My Story

A smidgen about me: growing up bouncing back and forth between Rome and Northern California, I eventually moved back to the Eternal City to finish college and then decided I liked gelato too much to move away again. Today I split my time between Tunis, where I work for an international organization, and wandering around my beloved Roma in constant search of bookstores and the perfect espresso. Read more…
