Donating art supplies to children’s hospitals by bidding on gorgeous artwork? On it!

Donating art supplies to children’s hospitals by bidding on gorgeous artwork? On it!

Our favorite charity, Drawing Dreams, is at it again!

If you’ve been reading YiR for a while (which I hope is the case!), then you know we’re always proud to promote the activities of the Drawing Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit organization out of Berkeley, California, that donates art supplies to more than fifty children’s hospitals, including the SS. Giovanni e Paolo, in Venice.

In this case, we absolutely had to get involved, because the incredible Rome-based artist Alberto Macone has donated a painting and a pair of limited edition prints to the Foundation’s online Charitybuzz auction. The auction closes on August 11, 2015, so if you want to make a bid for one of these beautiful pieces for a truly important cause, then head on over to the Foundation’s website, where there is a link to their auction (just scroll down a bit), information on the really, really important work of this Foundation, and where you can also check out the children’s artwork!

The work of Drawing Dreams, which spreads throughout the United States, Canada, and Italy, is completely funded by the auction of art donated by artist supporters and contributions from individuals and foundations. Can I just say how proud we are to help spread the word in our own little way?

Have an amazing day, YiR-ers!

My Story

A smidgen about me: growing up bouncing back and forth between Rome and Northern California, I eventually moved back to the Eternal City to finish college and then decided I liked gelato too much to move away again. Today I split my time between Tunis, where I work for an international organization, and wandering around my beloved Roma in constant search of bookstores and the perfect espresso. Read more…
