Hankering for a dose of sugar plum fairies or just looking to travel through the Land of Sweets in a nutshell boat with a handsome prince who doubles as an expert remover of nut shells? Then you’re in luck, as Rome’s Teatro dell’Opera is staging Christmas classic “The Nutcracker” this holiday season. Even though Mr. Tchaikovsky’s Yuletide ballet does not open until December 20th, with only 9 performances this year, seats are sure to go fast. Tickets are available online at the Teatro dell’Opera website, which will redirect you to LisTicket. LisTicket requires you to register an account before seeing all available ticketing options, but the quick and free registration process is worth it, as many of Rome’s cultural institutions sell their tickets through this site. Tickets range from 12 euro for the cheap seats at the Christmas Eve matinee to 150 for a box on opening night. Or you can always just try and sneak in with the rest of the kids under Mother Ginger’s skirt.
