Friday: The Museo di Roma in Trastevere opens a new photography exhibit today by Leonard Freed. Called “Io Amo l’Italia”, the show features over 100 black and white photos of daily life across Italy. If you’re looking to expand your cultural horizons outside of Italy, kill two birds with one stone and hit up the Irish-Mexican fiesta at Fiddler’s Elbow in Monti. Commemorating an Irishman who defected to the Mexicans to fight in the Mexican American War back in the 19th century, the celebration of “Las Compañías de San Patricio” will take place from 9pm until midnight, and feature Irish and Mexican food and music. Corned beef nachos, anyone?
Saturday: Airbnb, the awesome social network/cheap lodging provider, is hosting AirShare, which, basically, is just a giant swap meet. Head down to Largo Dino Frisullo in Testaccio starting at 11am, and bring along any household goods you’re looking to swap out. You’ll earn a ticket for every viable item, which can then be used toward acquiring other gently used products. Stick around until 1:30 for a free lunch and live music!
Sunday: Lanificio Factory is hosting the latest edition of their Happy Sunday Market, Brunch and Aperitivo. Starting at 11am, you can shop, nosh, drink and dance all day long and all in one place! Talk about efficiency. Lanificio is located off the Pietralta stop on the Metro B.
