There’s still one more day to check out the Gelato Festival in Rome before they pack up their tents and the one and only mobile gelato factory for the year (see below). The Firenze gelato festival expanded its range this year traveling to Milan and Turin and finally Rome’s very own Auditorium Parco della Musica, just a couple tram stops away from Piazzale Flaminio.
The purchase of a gelato card at the entrance (12 euros) gets you five tastings from the gelato parlors (like Vacanze Romane: a vanilla, pistachio, and raspberrry concoction) as well as one of their singular alcoholic gelato milkshakes. Try a Gelato Mojito or Irish Ginger Banana (a few ingredients you don’t normally see combined, that’s for sure). Want more, you gelato guzzlers? You also get a free bag, wafers, and the opportunity to enter a contest for yet more tastings
If you’re there in the afternoon, your gelato card further entitles you to gelato cooking shows, demonstrations, and classes. The vibe is relaxed and peaceful, an almost inevitable result for an event devoted to the joy of sweet, cool creaminess.
Open today from noon until midnight!
