Some of the great things in life come in twos, like shots of espresso, specialized travel guides, and donuts. Since you guys loved the spotlight on Laura Morelli’s Venice guides, when Italy Book Tours let me know that she has guides for Florence as well, I knew we had to share, not least of all because Florence has a very special place in my heart. Like Rome, Florence is one of the marvels of the Italians (bias? What bias?), and also like my capitale, it is too easy to get waylaid by tourist traps when what you really want is to bring home a special gift (for yourself or others) made by the artisans of the city. Few things are as disappointing as those things that do not turn out as we had hoped or as they are meant to be, and because of this, short of a local expert, a guidebook that will help you find the true treasures is your best sidekick on a trip such as this. Without further ado, read on for the spotlight of the second set of books in the Authentic Arts series.
As always, we want to know what you think – both of the books, if you scoop them up, but especially of Florence! We’re always thrilled to hear from you guys, so shoot us an email!
Happy wandering, shopping, and exploring, YiR-ers!
