Friday: Road to Ruins, a twelve year old punk rock festival named for the Ramones album, is adding a cinematic component this year with the Road to Ruins Film Festival, opening tonight at the Cinema Farnese. This historic theater near Campo de’ Fiori will play host to a series of rock documentaries from now until Thursday the 24th. The free festival is showing an international selection of films, including Foo Fighters: Back and Forth tonight, Torino Hardcore on Tuesday, and a special presentation of D.A. Pennebaker’s classic Monterey Pop next Thursday – because nothing follows a turkey dinner better than an epic concert film featuring Otis Redding, Simon & Garfunkel, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix setting his guitar on fire.
Saturday: Get your cultural groove on Saturday night as Rome turns into one giant concert venue. Museums across the city, which lately have been open late night on Saturdays anyway, are adding free admission and live music into the mix for one night only. Check out our full write-up for more details and to help plan your evening.
Sunday: The Serie A standings could be shaken up quite a bit after 7th ranked Roma takes on Lecce, holding it down in 18th place, up at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. Roma captain Francesco Totti is still out with an injury, so it’s really anyone’s game. Tickets start at 6 euro for the ladies, and are available at Roma shops and official ticket selling points across the city. More information is available here. Information is in Italian, but the grid on the first page shows price categories, and scroll to the bottom for a list of official ticket sellers and locations. And don’t forget to bring photo ID for everyone who will be attending the game when you go to purchase tickets.
